Net worth

What you own minus what you owe, as one number — with how many months your reachable money covers, and how much of what you own is really the lender's.

If entered, shows how many months cash and savings would cover.

Net worth
ر.ق 2,910,000
what you own, less what you owe
Everything you own ر.ق 5,330,000
Everything you owe ر.ق 2,420,000
Reachable within days ر.ق 330,000 cash, bank, savings — not the house
Months that would cover 7.3 at ر.ق 45,000 a month
Share of what you own that is really the lender's 45%
Yours — ر.ق 2,910,000 Lender's — ر.ق 2,420,000

You own ر.ق 5,330,000 and owe ر.ق 2,420,000, so your net worth is ر.ق 2,910,000.

Of it, ر.ق 330,000 is reachable within days — 7.3 months of spending. The house is wealth; it is not a month's food.

Do this once a year, on the same date. The direction matters more than the number.

What you can do next
  • If the reachable part covers under three months, the emergency fund tool is the next stop.
  • Write today's date and this number down. Next year, compare.
This answer assumes
  • Property, vehicles and gold at what they would sell for today, not what they cost.
  • Money owed to you counted only if it will genuinely arrive.
  • Loans at the outstanding balance, not the original amount.
  • Nothing is projected — this is today.

Questions people ask

Is a house I live in an asset?

Yes, at what it would sell for today — and the loan on it is a debt at its outstanding balance. Both go in; the difference is what is yours.

My net worth is negative. Is that bad?

It is common — a migration loan, a vehicle loan, a card. What matters is the direction: clear the highest-interest debt first and recalculate in six months.

Why separate "reachable within days"?

Because a house cannot pay for a month in hospital. Net worth says what you are worth; the reachable part says how long you could last.

What about gold and jewellery?

Count them at today's selling price, not the price paid, and remember selling takes time and costs something.

Do you keep what I type here?

No. The figures are used to work out the answer and are not stored, and never appear in the page address.

These are estimates. The figures depend entirely on the numbers you enter and on assumptions that are listed on every result. They are not financial advice, and a bank, employer or authority may use different rules. Check anything important with them before you decide.

We do not keep your figures. Salary, debt and savings you type here are used to work out the answer and are not stored, and never appear in the page address. The only thing remembered is your country and language choice (a small cookie), so the currency can be suggested next time — never a figure you typed. Anonymous counters record that a calculation happened, not what it was.
